So, TODAY was my first day of volunteering. it wasn't SOOOO BAD. they just made me:
- scrub the walls.
- carry bunch of heavy stuff.
- mop the floors.
- scrub the floors.
- clean out the big room.
- put stuff on shelves.
- carry at least TEN TABLES and slide them onto each other.
- move A LOT OF BOXES.
with my asian fried Thao. (she's funny). lol.
But, the best part was just helping out an organization that helps the homeless and the needy by feeding them, which is....
THE LORD'S DINER!
and they are awesome nice wonderful caring people.
THEY RESPECT YOU and EVERYONE ELSE. including the HOMELESS PEOPLE, because YOU'RE A HUMAN BEING WITH A SOUL, FEELINGS, and a MIND.
What I love about the Lord's Diner is that they don't JUDGE others based on their appearances, attitudes, or first impressions.
And they ACCEPT people for who they are.
^^ that's what i learned today.
it feels good to volunteer. it gets you out of the house. off your butt. away from the television. away from the computer. near people that care and influence in a good way. be with your friends. deal with the real world. see how cruel the world is. and your learn. you learn so much more from volunteering than any other job, from school, or from your friends. because i think that when you volunteer. you learn from your heart, your conscience, and your mind at the same time. you see real people actually living out their faith and their deeds. you get the experience you need to be around people that aren't in it for the money, but for something much greater: love. (my goodness i sound so corny.)
well.. to make this blog a little bit more interesting, i'm going to add a new part of my blog.
